Sidney Poitier #1 - London, 1965 by Brian Duffy
The legendary Sidney Poitier was photographed by Duffy in 1961. The same year Poitier appeared in 'Paris Blues' and 'A Raisin In The Sun' for which he received widespread critical acclaim.
Poitier won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1963 for 'Lillies In The Field' the first black actor to win that award and was nominated a second time. From 1997 to 2007, he served as the Bahamian Ambassador to Japan.
