George Carlin, The Roxy, 1976 by Greg Papazian

This image shows George Carlin in 1976 at the Roxy theater. The Roxy, which was started in 1973 by a mix of big-time record executives, was a historic West Hollywood hub for folk-rock and rock musicians. Neil Young initiated the opening of the Roxy with a three-night run, and the theater would go on to host the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley and Joni Mitchell throughout the seventies. Not much is known about Carlin’s Roxy set; according to the photographer, somebody videotaped the performance, but those tapes were never released. What remains is this contact sheet, which displays the edgy and provocative comic expressing his characteristic energy and charisma.

We custom frame each print in our in-house custom framing studio.

Once your artwork is completed, we offer local pickup, local delivery anywhere in the Greater Los Angeles area, and ship worldwide. We also offer expert art hanging services to clients in the Los Angeles area.

Local delivery

We offer local delivery within a 5 mile radius of our Los Angeles gallery. If you order online, please select local delivery at checkout. Our standard rate for local delivery is $125. This is a great option for oversized artworks or orders with two or more framed works.

Domestic Shipping 

Your prints, framed or unframed, are securely packaged in MasterPak™ shipping boxes.

Unframed prints larger than 20” by 24” paper size will be packaged in dent resistant tubes. Every shipment is insured and requires signature upon delivery to guarantee your artwork arrives safely.
