About this photograph
“On June 4, 2000, I photographed Sleater-Kinney at a free concert in San Francisco’s Dolores Park, a benefit event for Food Not Bombs that also featured the raging punk band Fugazi. Both bands delivered high-energy, animated performances, making for some incredible shots in the natural daylight. San Francisco has long been known for its activism and free concerts in the parks, supporting important causes, and this show was a prime example of that bohemian Bay Area spirit.” - Jay Blakesberg
