About this photograph

In 1969, photographer Robert M. Knight, who was not yet 21, spent the day with Led Zeppelin at the Chateau Marmont before their show at Whisky A Go Go. To gain entrance, Jimmy Page handed him pieces of the drum kit to carry in as a stagehand, allowing him to move around the stage and capture intimate, up-close shots of the performance.
