Luciano Viti
Since the early seventies, Luciano Viti has actively contributed to major Italian and international magazines like “Ciao 2001”, “Music”, “Rockstar”, “Stereoplay”, “Suono”, “Panorama”, “L’Espresso”, “Amica”, “Sette”, “Specchio”, “Epoca”, “Rolling Stone”, “GQ”, “Stern”, “Interview”, “Spin”, “Rock & Folk”, “Musician”, “Mojo”, “Guitar Player”, “Time”, “The Guardian”, “The Times”, “New York Times”.
From 1981 to 1988, he’s been the staff photographer of “Mucchio selvaggio”, with 40 covers to his credit. From 1982 to 1993 he’s done 250 shoots and 60 covers for “TV Radiocorriere”. He’s also been official photographer for the Pistoia Blues Festival and Casa del Jazz in Rome.
His numerous collaborations include such artists as Claudio Baglioni, Jeff Beck, Bee Gees, George Benson, Vinicio Capossela, Sergio Cammariere, Luca Carboni, Eric Clapton, Pino Daniele, Miles Davis, Fabrizio De André, Paolo Fresu, Francesco Guccini, Jim Hall, Jorma Kaukonen, B.B. King, Ligabue, Gianni Morandi, Ennio Morricone, Enrico Rava, Lou Reed, Talking Heads, Jethro Tull, Roberto Vecchioni, Frank Zappa, Renato Zero.
In 1997, Hard Rock Café in Orlando, Florida, purchased 54 fine art prints of his music portraits. His work has also been extensively exhibited and is the subject of several books: Rock in camera and Chet & Miles, both published by Postcart, are among his most recent.
