About this photograph
"In 2018, Barns Courtney invited me to document his time in the studio writing his second record out in Carmel, California. We drove up the California coast and settled into a chateau at Folktale Winery where we lived and worked for a month. The entire trip was a riot. Absolute chaos, in the best way. But, there was a little cabin on the property that was converted into a studio where Barns wrote every day, which is where this photo was taken. It was one of the rare moments of stillness; where all the dust settled for a moment; and I think that’s why this photograph feels so special looking back— because it’s a moment of solitude amongst the wild." - Paige Sara
