About this photograph
“Tina, captured here at The Electric Circus, on St. Mark's Place, in the East Village, New York City. It was during a three night run of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue that these midnight shows were scheduled - the very same night they opened for The Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden. I was attending the High School of Performing Arts and this shoot was my very first professional assignment as a photographer. This wild two piece crocheted outfit was designed to show off Tina's great legs - as all her dresses [were] for several decades.” - Sherry Rayn Barnett
