As the director of photography for Columbia Records, Don Hunstein had the opportunity to photograph a number of legendary musicians over the course of his career. This intimate portrait brings us to Bob Dylan’s West 4th Street apartment in New York City, where the then-22 year-old was posing on a beat-up armchair with his acoustic guitar. This photo shoot culminated with Hunstein capturing Dylan and his then-girlfriend Suze Rotolo walking hunched through the snow, the image that would later become the iconic album cover to The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan
