Exhibition Dates: Mar 6 – Apr 5, 2025
Gallery Hours: Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm
Becoming Led Zeppelin: The Rise of the Heaviest Band of All Time (1966–1977) is a photography exhibition chronicling Led Zeppelin’s meteoric rise, from their roots in the Yardbirds to their final North American tour. Featuring over 30 photographs by 18 acclaimed photographers, the exhibit showcases electrifying performances, candid moments, and masterful portraits. This immersive exhibition offers a rare glimpse into how quickly the band fused their talents, creating not just an unforgettable sound but a powerful visual identity that exuded confidence, mystique, and raw energy.
A highlight of the exhibition is the rediscovery of Ron Raffaelli’s long-lost negatives, which had been missing for nearly 50 years. In 2023, the gallery acquired and scanned them to produce fine art editions. The images were also used in the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin. Raffaelli, an L.A.-based photographer, was introduced to Jimmy Page in 1969 and was soon commissioned for the band’s first official studio photo session—his images later gracing the cover of their 1969 tour book and concert posters.
