Ebet Roberts

Ebet Roberts moved from her native Memphis to New York City to paint, but shifted to photography in 1977 as she began documenting the evolving CBGB scene, launching a career defined by an instinct for capturing the essence of musicians. Over decades, she built a vast archive that not only chronicles key moments across rock, jazz, and beyond, but has also earned widespread respect among artists and peers. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, appearing in major media, galleries, and private collections, and stands as a lasting visual record of influential figures from Bob Marley and Bob Dylan to The Ramones, Talking Heads, and Miles Davis.
