Glen Craig
Glen Craig was born in New York City. He started taking pictures at age 12 and went on to study photography at Parsons School of Design in New York where Diane Arbus and Benedict J. Fernandez helped to further shape his technical and compositional prowess. An introduction to Gordon Parks, the legendary Life magazine photographer, grew into a treasured mentorship.
His image of B.B. King on the cover of Cashbox Magazine in 1965 set the stage for his career in the music industry. He became Hullabaloo Magazine’s exclusive photographer, shooting Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Who, Tina Turner, and Stevie Wonder.
While working in New York with B. B. King in the late 60’s, Columbia/CBS introduced him to Miles Davis. They developed a trust that produced photography sessions at Miles’ home, his gym, and his studio.
His published credits include most every major daily US news publication as well as music, entertainment and fashion publications. Rolling Stone, MOJO, Billboard, Guitar Player, The New York Times, USA Today, Time, Wall Street Journal, Vogue, GQ, NME, Downbeat to name a few.
